Chippingford is a Pre-K–6 independent school in Westwood. Classes are five to eight children. Instruction is offline-first and human-led. We are not a pod.
We look for outstanding educators who believe childhood is a season of living, not only of preparing. Who can teach literature, mathematics, history, and science without a screen in a five-year-old’s hands. Who can name a virtue and live it in a room. Who want a partnership with parents, not a customer relationship. Who not only believe our mission, but live it daily.
In a room this small, the teaching is visible — there is nowhere for mediocrity to hide.
Who should write
Outstanding educators tired of scale. People formed by a serious school, a faith tradition, or both. Specialists in art, music, PE, STEAM/Innovation, and Spanish who can work inside a small community.
Who should not
Anyone looking for a tech-forward lab school. Anyone who needs a large faculty culture to feel professional. Anyone who thinks a small school means informal. Adults whose primary aim is an adult political or ideological agenda, rather than teaching children truthfully.
