We love tools. We stay optimistic about what AI can unlock. And we protect the time and space it takes to develop creativity in childhood. Both can be true.
Creativity needs empty time
Empty time, boredom, imaginary play — that is where a child’s own mind learns to invent. Screens fill that void easily. Protect childhood’s sacred unstructured space, and AI becomes an instrument in a creative life — so children can be both deeply imaginative and remarkably capable with the tools ahead of them.
Virtues machines cannot supply
The early years remain for virtues and capacities that our current machines cannot feel or supply: kindness, gratitude, humility, wonder — and a mind practiced at imagining. Those grow in a human room, with a teacher who knows the child, a small circle of peers, books and real experiences.
Intensity has a season
Ambition matters. Entrepreneurship matters. Intensity has a season. Pre-K through sixth grade is not a résumé factory.
How we practice it
Chippingford stays small on purpose: five to eight children in a room, offline-first, no screen in a small hand, adults present. Future-ready — without rushing the soul.
