Children learning together in a Chippingford classroom

We seek truth.

To enable young people to seek truth, realize their potential, and know themselves as children of God.

A child here is a child of God, not a cause. We teach truth, kindness, gratitude, and duty — they are not extras. Rooms should feel like childhood. Children should feel safe to take risks here: seeking excellence, not perfection, and learning when mistakes occur.

Other schools organize around scale, devices, or a large parent body. We organize around a child who is seen. Five to eight. A teacher who knows them. No screen in a small hand.

We are a highly intentional Pre-K–6 independent school in Westwood. Judeo-Christian. Human-led. Offline-first. Childhood is sacred, so we refuse to scale it.

Parents

One of the school’s strengths is the careful curation of the parent community. When the parents of your child’s friends hold similar values, a genuine home–school partnership becomes possible. Curation is not sameness. We welcome families who share our purpose and our standards — and who bring the breadth of life that makes a community real. We keep what we say to children age-appropriate and safe. We do not go around parents. We help them parent with courage. Privacy, discretion, and peace of mind are how we live. Families entrust us with what matters most, and we treat that responsibility with the care it deserves.

After Chippingford

Our oldest children are in fifth grade this year. We will have a sixth. After that, some families will want us through eighth. Some will want a Los Angeles middle school. Some will want a path that does not exist yet. That conversation does not start in the last year. It is part of how we know your child year after year — so the next step is chosen, not rushed. The Head of School walks each family to the next right path — independent, parochial, public, or international — with the same care. His work with families has included sought-after Los Angeles independents such as Harvard-Westlake, Crossroads, Windward, and Marlborough, among others. That is his record of guidance, not a promise about where every Chippingford graduate will go.
